Just recently my computer in the panel that monitors outside temperature, inside temperature, Mann. Pressure, Fuel Flow etc.. goes out occasionally. (technical term anyone for that piece of avionic?:) If I reset the breaker it will come on. I have had a new breaker installed, but still happening. It doesn't happen all the time. When I power up, sometimes it will be completely dark. If I pull the breaker and reset, it will come on. Thank You in advance.
Is this an Avidyne Integra (glass panel) plane?? If so you have a problem with the ADHRS (air data computer) in the PFD (primary flight display). There is a recent SB for Avidyne PFDs so you will need to see if you serial number is on the list and send the MFD to them for repair. This can take several (6-8 weeks). Don't fly IFR with this PFD.
Re: 2003 Piper Saratoga Panel Computer Out-air data computer
I looked at some '03 panels on Controller and none have high enough resolution, but it is likely the air data computer. This typically calculates like wind, drift, DA etc. If it's on the fritz probably needs to be looked at by your favorite avionics shop.
The gadget which is on the fritz is called the DDMP. According to a source on the Saratoga email list the go-to guy for these things is: Ultra Electronics – Flighline Systems, Mike Ferreby (585) 742-5336
