Hi
Anyone have climb out performance chart for 1989 Dakota? POH makes no reference to manifold pressure during takeoff or climb out. Anyone share their procedures? I checked out in C-182 and POH reduced manifold after 500ft agl during climb out??? What are Dakota pilots doing??
I've got a 235 and I don't reduce throttle until I have enough altitude to make it back if the engine dies, which I figure is happening just after I turn downwind or at pattern altitude. Even then I don't use the MP gauge to determine how much I pull the throttle back, I use EGT and normally don't see a drop in MP. If I'm departing an airport at a higher elevation I don't pull the throttle until I get to cruise altitude and am adjusting for my final cruise power setting, I just use the mixture control to keep temps in check.
