My plane received some pretty major hail damage from a storm Friday night here in Knoxville, Tennessee. The paint on my plane is not perfect by any means, but it has hail damage all over. I have left a message with my insurance company and expect a call from them tomorrow. I have never had to file a claim before. Can anyone tell me what to expect from a hail damage claim and what will they do for me to get it fixed?
It's probably not approved but I have heard of a guy hiring a paintless dent guy for the morning to pull a few hits out of his plane.
They hot glue a disk on the dent that is attached to a worm type screw with a knob. Two pads opposite the worm screw rest on each side of the dent. He turns the knob CCW till the dent is out. When it's out the glue pops off and it's nice and flush.
Other than that I would guess it is reskinning or bondo.
