I will be in France traipsing through lavender fields with my wife, munching on baguettes and cheese and sipping wine. At least, that's her idyllic vision. But I lived in France for two years so I'm looking forward to getting back there.
I just hope I can learn to ogle the French girls surreptitiously this time. When I lived there during college there was no discretion required...it was open season on the mademoiselles!
Thanks for letting us know about the fly-in Joe. Maybe we should remember as we vent our opinions that we could come face to face with somebody with whom we got into a raging, name-calling argument. And that person might turn out to be a good guy after all.

In some of the correspondence, it mentions MIZZu approach. What is the
freq. and when do we call in from the NWest? Initially, I thought Columbia was to be contacted? Please clarify.
Mizzu Approach is 124.1 at Osage Beach. That is a different facility than than Springfield Approach, which is 121.1.
Mizzu is just an approach control for much of central Missouri. I guess they call it Mizzu because it handles Columbia (home of the Mizzu Tigers) and Jeff City. You don't need to contact them unless you are IFR or on flight following, in which case you will get a hand off from Kansas City Center, Whiteman Approach, Memphis Center, etc.
