Winterization plate for a Lance

How do you block cold air blowing on the two huge oil coolers in a Lance??? I have temperature not coming even close to midline(i.e.) 180 d F . My mechanic says that vernatherm should stop oil from entering the oil coolers and keep the oil temps up but its not workin for me. Your suggestions are appreciated.

If the vernatherm is working then covering the cooler air inlets will have no effect. If the vernatherm is not working, fix it.
