This probably won't rattle too many Cherokee owners, but the Comanche line took a blow when the FAA found WEBCO providing unapproved services and parts for the entire PA-24, PA-30, and PA-39 line. Webco has provided Comanche support for many years, and has been depended upon for parts, services, and expertise. I can only speculate, but I would guess that well over the majority of the fleet has Webco parts installed.
I am interested in hearing from any knowledgable person who has first hand information on the status of this situation. I have a particular interest in this as I was selling my Arrow to upgrade to a Twin Comanche/PA39.
In light of this news, it puts a whole new spin on me buying, or possibly those who are selling.
For those who have not seen the FAA notice, you can take a look the file I have attached.
vox,
My information is all 2nd-hand but it looks like the entire UPN situation with Webco is being resolved. the fuel selector issue is solved and the gear motor & tranmission issue is close to resolution. The Comanche forum, while sometimes contentious, has the latest information on this situation. I'm not particullary concerned about support for my Comanche and I wouldn't let the Webco situation stop me from purchasing one.
Webco is still very much in business.
If you do purchse a Comanche I'm sure you'll find it to be a delightful airplane to fly.
VOX,
There are two; www.comancheflyer.com which is the website of the International Comanche Society, and [forums.delphiforums.com], which is a group on Delphi.
Lots of good information on both sites.

vox,
The Delphi forum address is [forums.delphiforums.com] then add /comancheflyer to the address. I should have previewed my previous message. For some reason it didn't add the "comancheflyer" portion.
