So a guy at work who tells me he is a CFI with hundreds of hours flying time tells me he won't get into my 1974 Warrior. It all started when I offered him a ride in my bird. I was explaining to him that there is corrosion where the aileron hinges are as well as the door hinges. I was hoping to get some tips on how to clean them up. He says that if there is corrosion at aileron hinges then what about the center spar? I have all the logs and numerous times there are referances to all ADs being complete with numerous referances with regards to the back seat being removed and an inspection being done there. But nothing with regards to fuel tanks being removed and an inspection being done there. Any thoughts?
First of all why would you ask a CFI about corrosion? Most CFI's wouldn't have a clue.
Look through your logs for SB 1006. It removes the fuel tanks and inspect's the spar behind them and treats the area with Dinitrol AV 8.
It also changes the fuel vent flex hoses.
