Just got a call today from trying to get it overhauled and it cannot be done so I need to get a new one. But am trying to find an overhauled one first if anyone out there has one or knows a good place for me to start looking.
Yeah I tried that, all they have is new ones that would work for me...I've called several prop shops but no overhauled ones as of yet that I can use...Just trying not to spend the $2600.00 for a new one...
Matt, good luck with this. I have the same Prop and when I bought mine 5 years ago, I went through hoops trying to find an overhauled prop with no luck. That is the most popular prop they sell. I ended up getting a "Re-Manufactured" prop which was a 0 time prop. It was basically a 76EM8S5-062 that was returned to the factory for a minor scratch. It was buffed out and re-pitched to 60 at the factory so it was basically a yellow tagged brand new prop for $350 less than a new one.
Don't buy direct from Sensenich, even they will tell you to use one of their distributors. Their distributors drop ship anyway, which means you are getting the stock direct from Sensenich, but the money take a different route. For some odd reason, it's cheaper that way.

Actually, yes I did, but that was because my old prop was so worn that it was well out of tolerances. After installing the new prop the first thing I noticed was that during take off I began to get that feeling of being pushed back against my seat. I did not have that before. The next thing I noticed was how quickly the plane accelerated to cruise speed. Top cruise speed didn't change much however, and that should be expected since there is a relationship between RPM and speed (for a fixed pitch prop).
The extra oomh would say you were develping more power (or converting the power into better thrust) because it was more efficient. At the same RPM and about the same speed, I might then expect you to see lower fuel consumption?
The 60 was the same pitch. My old prop was REALLY worn out. In fact, when I took the plane to Sensenich propeller service (not to be confised with Sensinich Propeller Factory) to get it overhauled, they took a few measurements and told me that it was so far beyond the limits that they could not legally put the prop back on the plane if they took it off. The width at the tips was 3/4 inch below the min and the thickness of the prop was abyssmal. If I had known more about the topic when I bought the plane 1 1/2 years earlier I would have insusted on a new prop, but live and learn. The extra "oomf" was due to having a prop that was actually within limits.
