Warner Propellers called and said my prop is out of specs and that they cannot overhaul it for me. I've since found and purchased a refurbished one from Sensenich however,
my question is Warner Propeller says I owe them $180.00 to get my unserviceable prop back for the work that he had into it. ( was going to use it as a wall piece)
Is this normal for this to happen- even if it's "no good"
I can't say about normal, but it doesn't sound unreasonable. If he put work into it that was part of his expertise, it makes sense that he would want something for the effort.
That said, it seems also short-sighted if his goal is to get your future business. But maybe prop shops get used so sporadically that he's not interested in that.
Was it fixed pitch. $180 does sound high if it was just a matter of measuring to determine that it wouldn't overhaul. You can probably get much more on Ebay than from a scrap yard.
