I had my main tires replaced this week and since I have done this the one main gear light is only on once in a while when the gear is down? Any ideas? Also every since I have had my plane, the nose gear light is on and off all the time. You push it in, and it comes on and off...HELP:(
Ref the nose gear light...do you mean when you push in on the light itself it goes on and off? I have this trouble with my Arrow. Seems like the socket is flaky as I've changed bulbs and get the same action. This with the plane sitting still and not running. I've found that if I pull the bulb out slightly it tends to operate properly.
My nose wheel is like that, but my left main has to be something else I think. When I push the bulb in or out, it still remains unlit. it must be something goofy with the switches on that gear.
Had that problem on mine. The wires that enter the little switch on the gear had fatigued as it worked back and forth, and contacted only intermittently.
Unfortunately, if that the's the problem it's not just a matter of cutting and splicing the wire - the switch needs the be changed - which is $300 or something retarded like that.
