I'm really going way back now, but I remember using an engine hoist and a chain to stretch the bungee over the shock assy. I wish I could remember more.
Can anybody point me toward a reference for interpreting the date code of the bungie cords on a Cub landing gear? I think the color or pattern of the threads somehow indicates date of manufacture, but I can't find any clues to break the code.
