Looking for a mechanic that really knows Geronimos and Aztecs. I'm trying to decide between the two and I want someone that can point out the differences, problem, costs, etc. And do a good pre-buy and probably my regular maintenance. I've been looking at APaches and Geronimos, and for the most part they fit my mission. But there are some inexpensive Aztecs out there which makes me look at them too. I don't have much multi time so I'll need to find a CFI that can do an insurance checkout.
THere is a guy in eastern CT that can help you. I met him in Pennsylvania to do an Aztec pe-buy and we later brought the plane back to Missouri. Knowledgeable mechanic, really good CFI, flies an Apache and a lot of other hard to find planes. Glenn Juber is his name and you can reach him at newcenturyaviation@ct.metrocast.net. We looked over four different Aztecs before getting the right one. He saved me from making a very expensive mistake on the first one I was set to buy on my own.
Thanks for the tip. I'm getting some multi dual in his Geronimo this week. We also found two pretty good Apaches that we'll be looking at next week. I can highly recommend Glenn to anyone needing help with these planes.
