I just installed a set of these recently on an Arrow, In my opinion, the best way to adjust the lights is when it is dark outside with a target at about 100 yards. The customers were quite happy with the results.
Running the wires is fun... but there are other threads on all that. Make sure to get the holes for the screws right! Measure with a yardstick, mark with chalk, cut with a torch... NOT. Really... be careful with the screw holes.
It takes a whole weekend. Paint the tips way beforehand so the paint is cured. You will handle the tips a bunch in the process. Get all the holes in before you paint too.
Installed them on my warrior. You wont be dissappointed. I installed them myself and had my Mech sign off. Take your time if you decide to install them yourself. They do not come drilled. The easiest way to drill the holes is to mark the existing screws by marking the center of the screw. (X) Bring the marks onto the wing area with a straight edge. Mount the tips hold in place. intersect the marks where they meet is your screw hole. I hope this helps you.
It also helps to go ahead and install the front few tinnermans and screws before you do the middle and aft holes -- if you start in the middle, the fairing tends to crawl forward as you work on it and you won't get a good fit in the front. It's easier to adjust if you allow any misfits to creep toward the rear where the curvatures are less acute.
I think the biggest part of the work will be the effort involved in removing the position light base shapes from the wingtips, reshaping that part of the tips to omit and fair through those mounting points and then installing the position lights and tip strobes inside the front lenses so that they still maintain the required viewing angles while not obstructing the landing lights. I also mount my VOR antenna and two Com antennae inside the tips, but that isn't too difficult since I just glass them in place. I figure it'll take a week to get the tips ready to mount, a day to paint, another week for the paint to cure before mounting them, a half day to run the wires, then another half day for the mounting itself. With luck, maybe by Christmas....

Buy a split switch too, as the panel on most does not have enough space for the big switch they provide. You have to run a separate switch and breaker to isolate the whole system from the original landing light.

What about a double pole, double throw, center off switch to isolate the two systems while also providing for continuous or pulsed light to the tips?

The "flat rate" for the install is 16 hours. The most time consuming thing is the wiring as the forward interior has to be removed to route the wires. I have done 4 of these and have yet to beat the 16 hour target.
