I'm a PPL/JAR shareowner of I-RAMT, a PA32RT300T based in Genova (Italy) by the local Aeroclub.
I liked very much the old bird and believe she could deserve major restoration works, compared to buying new (or newer) Saratogas (don't have the money, by the way). My wife enjoys it, too, as long as we fly towards the beaches and I'm happy about it.
So I went thru extensive searchs here in the forums, to find all the answers I needed.
Of course, I understand first thing to do will be an engine digital analyzer and the modifications to cowling and air intakes to keep the engine cool enough at 75% and 81% cruise. Now weìre going great at 140k/26/2300/16gph, but a little faster could be appreciated.
Talking about STC SA249NE, SA2586NM, SA2935NM, SA4345WE, the engineer here at Piper Italy is looking for modification already applied to airplanes with EASA registrations.
Does anybody knows of any Turbo Lance with european registration and abovementioned STC installed?
If I find a such modified Turbo Lance with (EASA) european registration marks, we can check the country STC databasea and easily import it in Italian STC database.
Otherwise, outside EASA, it is going to be a major problem.
