Just bought a 1963 cherokee 180 and noticed that the fill tube extends way down into the tank. Is there any way (practical) to fix this. I am getting real tired of blowing fuel all over the wing unless i fill real slow. Is it possible to drill a larger breather hole near the top?

I had a 1963 Cherokee and seem to recall the problem you stated. I likely wasn't as worried about it as you as my paint was a 1 or 2, but I think just slowing down a bit near the end fixes it. If that much a concern, just bring a rag or two to place around the outlet in case it spills. Just leave the gas soaked rag behind!
