Anyone have the HP increase/upgrade offered by Turboplus? If so, what was the cost and what did the upgrade include as far as parts required? I now own the STC's for those three mods but am having trouble obtaining all the necessary paperwork to market the kits again. STC numbers are: SA1797NM, SE2146NM and SA2147NM
Any help would be appreciated.
Jeff,
I've installed the Turboplus Intercooler system on a Lance. That was about 5 years ago, so I'll see if I can dig up the file to let you know what I paid for it.
I've had a couple request for quotes to install this system in the last 6 months, but unable to contact anyone. So your the new owner? And the purchase of this STC didn't include the aircraft registration list? And you bought it without knowing what the product was selling for? I believe that when an STC is transferred this info is required by the Feds go with the sale, because you have to be able to provide the FAA with a complete list of altered aircraft in the event of an airworthiness directive.
Hi Del,
I was inquiring about the 220HP engine upgrade for the Seneca and Arrow, Since my letter I have found all documents related to those STC's. I have on hand all paperwork/FAA records for all models that Turboplus held STC's going back to the 80's.
I think you probably paid $7995.00 for your Lance intercooler.
I have already met with the FAA, they are in the process of transferring all STC's into my name.
I was one of the original founders of Turboplus back in the early 80's, so I know all their products very well. In fact, I designed most of the intercooler components for the Piper Lance and Saratoga, Arrow, T/P 210, and Beech 36 models.
Yes, either way I will have a quality person, certified welder do the manufacturing, hopefully it will be a former Turboplus employee. I am meeting with two business owners that are interested in purchasing the business. I am very paticular to the person I sell the business to. Let's see what happens.
I know there are several options which help an aircrafts power, but I think they all need approached with caution. I'm not judging any of them, just saying research. This is interesting
