Has anyone else noticed the website's response time becoming longer and more erratic? (whatever the X11 gif animation on the right sidebar is, it takes more than 20 minutes to download, locking up the computer while it does it...) I typically CTL-ALT-DEL after about 10 minutes are so, so I haven't seen what it does when it finishes loading.
Also, what is the purpose of the recently appearing messages on the right sidebar?

Yes, I'm having problems just getting to the home page for the POS, only got here by directing the URL to it. I thought this was a "maintenance" issue, but obviously, there are problems. Hope they find them soon.
The piperowner site is hosted by 2 different companies. One company handles the main site, while another handles the forums.
The company that handles the main site is currently having problems which is why you are getting the error you see. The site in fact is not down, but the database is, which is causing the errors you are seeing. The images on the right are pulled from a database which is why you also see errors to the right. The last problem this database causes is being able to log in, the forum accesses two databases to make sure you are a subscribed member before you can be logged in, but because one of the databases are currently down, logging in is not possible.
Just to clarify, this problem has nothing to do with the new faster hosting we recently switched too, everything on their end is still working great, and is the reason why normal posting without being logged in is still possible.
We have contacted the company and hope to have everything working soon.

After reading a thread, we used to be able to use the Back key to return to earlier views. That function has become undependable and now sometimes locks everything up so that we have to close explorer and then reopen it to keep on accessing the forum. Also, when trying to respond to a post, sometimes the spam code shows up, sometimes it remains blank -- what's going on there? Whatever else the software may be, it is not faster with these new glitches.

I'm also having problems loging on. I click on the LOG IN button, the computer goes through the motions and pops up a blank white screen. In fact the site has been screwed up for several days now!
We have definitely had a rough week with our other hosting company having problems. When you log in to our sites, you are logged in to both sites and it requires both sites to be working, as Cole described earlier this week.
We moved this site away from the problem company awhile back, and are now moving the other sites away from them. Unfortunately it isn't something we can do in a few days, but we have made some significant moves and should be up and running with a new host next week or early January at the latest. We have also limited the possible down-time with our most recent backups.
Jim - regarding your back button comment: Are you meaning the back button in your browser? Which page do you want to "go back" the most from?
Thank you for your comments and we will batten down the hatches.
Sincerely,
Kevin White

These log in problems should be fixed now.

Cole, the website software seems to be seriously screwed up. When attempting to reply to a post, it can take up to 20 minutes for your spam prevention code to appear, and even more time to process a reply. On my machine, it seems as though this delay may be related to downloading an image called PIM.gif, whatever that is. Also, the functionality of the 'back' key is much reduced. Sometimes it works, sometimes it just freezes the website.

The problems aren't fixed. I log in, it appears everything is OK but I still must use the anti-spam letters and enter a name. From past experience I can't enter my e-mail address because it says there is another user with that address so I leave it blank.
