I passed my checkride on October 16th, the FAA website says they are currently reviewing applications from November 25th. We submitted all the materials online immediately following the checkride. The examiner did most of the work with the online stuff - but I still haven't received a single thing from the FAA, and now my temp. certificate is expired!!!
My instructor says that this happens rather commonly, but it seems a bit off to me, am I freaking out for no reason here? Should I contact the FAA, the Examiner? Any advice?
No your not freaking out. You worked hard to earn your certification. Remember the faa is always right! That means if you go out and fly and something happens or if you get ramp checked, you have no licence!!! I would be on the phone today with the faa and with the examiner!!! If you dont blow your own horn who will??? Good luck, Dana
Well, as it turns out, the FAA had never received my application for my cert. Apparently the IACRA online system isn't as great as they make it out to be, as they still print the apps and then process them one at a time.
The person I spoke with thought that perhaps mine got lost in the shuffle. Fortunately though, since it was submitted online, she was able to retrieve it and promised me my certificate would arrive in 2 weeks.
So, I wasn't freaking out - I was right, something was wrong! :)
